All Senior
Psychology majors do a 16 hour per week internship to gain experience in the
field.
Internship
sites during the past four years include the following:
Boston Excels at the
David A. Ellis Elementary School in Boston (working
in an after school program)
The Italian Home for
Children (working with school age children with
behavioral disorders)
Prevention Now (an after school program at the Hennigan
School in Jamaica Plain)
Irish Immigration Center (counseling immigrants who are apply for citizenship)
Intensive Residential
treatment Center (working on a closed
ward with disturbed adolescents)
Ellis Memorial (working as a teacher in the Kindergarten program)
Children's Hospital (working with Child Life on the wards and clinics)
Golden Days Children's
Center (working as a teacher's aide with preschoolers)
Boston Early
Intervention Program (working with children
up to age 3 with developmental delays)
Dorchester District
Court (working in the Probation Department)
Boston Senior Home Care (working in elderly services)
Beaverbrook Step Program (working on social skills with developmentally delayed adults)
Brown Middle School (working in the Guidance Office)
Support Committee for
Battered Women (working on the hotline
and with clients)
MetroWest YMCA High Flight Counseling Program (working on outdoor activities with adolescents)
