Student Health Advisory Board ( SHAB)

 STUDENT ORGANIZATION of the YEAR

      1997 and 2002

PURPOSE

At Pine Manor College, the Student Health Advisory Board (SHAB) strives to promote wellness and influence healthy attitudes and behaviors, throughout the college community.   SHAB also serves as the official liaison between Student Health Services and  the student body.   SHAB members provide input and feedback to assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Health Services on campus.   SHAB members promote an awareness of the health issues that affect students’ lives.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in SHAB is open to all Pine Manor students.  To truly represent the entire campus community, SHAB will strive to have members from diverse backgrounds.  There is only one requirement for members - a genuine concern for their wellness and that of their peers on campus.  Students wishing to become a member of SHAB must complete an application and be interviewed by a SHAB member.

Applications are available at the Health and Wellness Center, and through members of SHAB.  Elections are held at the end of the Spring semester for the offices of President, Vice-President, and Secretary.  Meetings are held every other Wednesday at 6pm in  the Health and Wellness Center..
