Pine Manor-Boston College Nursing Program
Students accepted for admission to Pine
Requirements to begin this program at
Candidates must have completed a minimum of two years of science in high school,
including Biology and Chemistry, and a minimum of three years of math in high
school, including Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra II.
Requirements to continue this program at
1. Candidates must carry a 3.2 cumulative grade point average through each
semester at Pine Manor.
2. Candidates must follow the prescribed Program of Study at Pine Manor and must
have completed a minimum of 18 college courses
before transfer.

exceeded, candidates not selected for admission to BC may continue at Pine Manor
and may apply all courses to the BA degree in biology at Pine Manor.
Program of Study:
The Program of Study includes coursework in scientific knowledge as well as the
theoretical and clinical topics directly related to nursing. During the
candidate's first years at Pine Manor, the program emphasizes science and
foundational skills as well as liberal arts.

BI 330 Microbiology and Human Infectious Disease

Coursework at the Boston College's Carroll School of Nursing includes theoretical and clinical study in such areas as Pharmacology and Nutrition, Adult Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
The strength of a student's background in mathematics and sciences will determine both her starting point and her sequence of courses. All students should take BI 101 in their first year, and most students take Anatomy and Physiology in their sophomore year. Students identified by the faculty at Pine Manor who will benefit from more time to build foundational skills will be eligible to apply for transfer to BC after two and one half or 3 years at Pine Manor.
