Susan E. Bear, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Department of Biology
Dane 306 617-731-7144
Currently, I am teaching the introductory courses for the biology major [Bi101 Principles of Biology, and Bi102 Evolution and Biodiversity], the Modern Cell Biology course (Bi301), and the Senior Internship course (Bi495). I also coordinate the Pathophysiology course (Bi380), which is offered to Pine Manor students as part of a special educational initiative with faculty and students from the graduate and medical schools of Tufts University.
I joined Pine Manor in the Fall of 2005 having relocated from the Philadelphia area where I was teaching undergraduate and graduate students at St. Joseph's University, and graduate students at the Thomas Jefferson School of Graduate Studies. My research interests are in the molecular genetics of cancer and I collaborate with scientists at the Molecular Oncology Research Institute of the Tufts Medical Center.
I welcome inquiries regarding the biology major at Pine Manor.
