Gators swept in tri-meet

Women's Volleyball 9/8/07

Chestnut Hill, MA- 9/8/2007- The Pine Manor Volleyball team fell to 1-3 with two losses today in a non conference tri meet against Eastern Nazarene and Wheaton College.

 In the opener the Gators were downed by Eastern Nazarene in four games.  After losing a close match in game one Pine Manor fought back in the second game to earn a 30-28 victory.  The Crusaders came from behind in the third game and won 28-30 to take control of the match.  In the fourth game Eastern Nazarene took control early and cruised to the victory 12-30.

Pine Manor was led by junior Amanda Dennis who tallied 7 kills.  Sophomore Andrea Lavigne led the defense with 14 digs. 

In the last game of the afternoon the Gators were defeated by Wheaton College three games to zero.  Pine Manor played hard the first two games and had an early lead in game three but were unable to hold on.  Sophomore Ally Austin lead the way for Pine Manor with 8 kills and 12 digs.

The Gators will return to action this Thursday when they travel to Becker College for a 7:00 PM non conference game.
