Emerson defeats Pine Manor 2-0

Chestnut Hill, MA 4/12/06 – Nicole Vocaturo (Bellmore, NY) gave up six hits and allowed zero earned runs but the Lions of Emerson capitalized on Gator mistakes and defeated Pine Manor 0-2.  Playing the second game of a GNAC doubleheader, that has been postponed from April 7th, Emerson pitcher Sara Toga Collins gave up only 2 hits and struck out 12 Gators.  In the first game of the souble header Emerson defeated Pine Manor 3-2 in eight innings to take the win.  Pine Manor's Ashley Woodward (Cherryfield, ME) struck out 12.  Pine Manor has been without the services of a ace pitcher Woodward for the last three games.  Ashley severely sprained her ankle in a win against Albertus Magnus.  Woodward has 131 strikeouts on the year and a 1.53 era.
