eight leads Pine Manor to doubleheader sweep of Suffolk

Senior Angelica Camacho hit a two run homerun in the bottom of the eight inning to propel Pine Manor to a 6-4 victory in the second game against Suffolk University.Freshman Courtney Wallace hit two home runs on the day. The first was a two run shot in the second inning to give the Gators a 2-1 lead. Suffolk would respond in the sixth scoring three runs, to take a 4-2 lead. Camacho hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the sixth to cut the margin to 3-4. In the bottom of the seventh Wallace hit a solo homerun her second of the day to tie the score at 4. Pine Manor Nicole Vocaturo's shut down Suffolk in the eight inning tie breaker not allowing the runner at second to score. That set the stage for Camacho's heroics. With Veronica Vozzolo starting at second, Camacho fouled off two bunt attempts before hitting the game wining home run to left field.
In the first game Nicole Vocaturo threw a six hitter with 8 strikeouts and no earned runs. Freshman Krissy Travers laid down a perfect bunt to score Angelica Camacho and give the Gators a 2-1. Vocaturo would make the one run lead stand up as Pine Manor defeated Suffolk 2-1.
