Lesley trailed by as many at ten points, at two different points, in the first have but used its tenacious defense to get itself back in the game. With seven minutes remaining in the first half the Lynx were down 12-22 to the Gators, however Lesley buckled down and went into the half trailing by only two points, 21-23.

The Lynx captured the lead with 16:10 left in the game and did not relinquish the lead once as they went on to the 18 point win.

Pine Manor got a team high 10 points out of Angelica Camacho (Orlando, FL). Crystal Colon (Dorchester, MA), Laura Cecil (Solon, OH), and Nancy Littlefield (Framingham, MA) contributed with nine, eight and eight points respectively.

Leakeas got much needed support from Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, MA), Kelly Harrington (Toledo, OH) and Christine Buchanan (Nantucket, MA). Cabral-Pini had 13 points while Harrington and Buchanan both added 10.

Lesley’s key to victory was its furious defense inside the box. The Lynx held the Gators to just 27% from the floor and 23% from the three-point line.
