Balanced scoring attack leads Emerson over Gators

Women's Basketball 1/27/07

Chestnut Hill, MA - Emerson sophomore Maude Okrah lead all scores with 15 points as the Lions defeated Pine Manor 67-46.  Emerson used a balanced attack as every player scored in the game.  The Lion's Lindsey DeStefano joined Okrah in double digits with 10 points.

Pine Manor's Laura Cecil scored 12 points to lead the Gators.  Crystal Colon chipped in with nine points for the Gators, and Amanda Dennis added 8 points.

Emerson was able to open up a 33-20 lead at half time in large part because of their shooting from beyond the arc.  The Lion's shot 50% from three point territory in the first half, and 40% for the game.  The Gators struggled from beyond the arc shooting 29.4 %.

The Gators return to action this Monday when they host Southern Vermont College.  Tip Off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.  Emerson travels to St Josephs College (CT), the game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
