Gators downed by Sharks

CHESTNUT HILL, MA-- The Sharks of Simmons came out on fire outscoring the Gators 31-15 in the first half on their way to a 77-59 victory.

The Gators shot only 16 percent from the floor and turned the ball over 18 times in the first half.  Pine Manor played better in the second half shooting 42 percent from the floor and scoring 46 points but they could not dig into the Simmons lead. 

The Gators leading scorer Amanda Dennis was held scoreless in the first half but finished with another double double scoring 12 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.  Pine Manor finished with 4 players in double figures, Enjolee Phillips lead the Gators with 15 points, and Nicole Doras also recorded a double double with 14 points and 16 rebounds.   

Simmons was led by Lauren Kreckie who recorded 22 points on 9-17 shooting, and 4-7 from the three point line. 

With the lose Pine Manor falls to 6-12, 2-6 in the GNAC.  They return to action on Wednesday when they travel to St Joe's of Maine.
