Volleyball sweeps conference tri-meet

Chestnut Hill, MA- 10/6/2007- The Pine Manor Volleyball team won their first two conference games of the season sweeping Albertus Magnus and Daniel Webster on Sunday.

In the first game of the day the Gators defeated the Eagles of Daniel Webster in three games 30-28, 30-13, 30-21.  The Gators had a balanced hitting attack with Rachel Mastine (Manlius, NY) collecting 8 kills, and Amanda Dennis (Haverhill, MA)  and Ally Austin (Hamilton, OH) each tallying 6 kills.  Freshman Camila Mendes (Framingham, MA) contributed 20 assists for the Gators.  Austin played terrific defense with 17 digs.

In the second game of the tri meet Pine Manor dominated Albertus Magnus in three games 30-3, 30-12, 30-13.  Amanda Dennis led the offense with 11 kills, and once again Camila Mendes controlled the offense collecting 19 assists. 

With these two wins Pine Manor improves to 8-11 and 2-5 in the GNAC.  The Gators will travel to GANC rival Emmanuel College on Thursday October 11th, the game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
