Salem, MA - Oct. 1, 2007– The Pine Manor College Volleyball team had a very successful weekend coming in second place at the Salem State Invitational.

The Gators defeated host Salem State College 30-27, 30-18, 30-14 and then defeated regional power Mount Holyoke in four games 30-18, 26-30, 30-25, 24-30.  Coach Kelly Scafariello stated “defeating Mount Holyoke was one of the biggest wins in program history”.  The Gators would fall to tournament champion UMASS Boston in three games, to finish as runners up. 

 Junior Rachel Mastine was named tournament MVP for her outstanding play through out the tournament.  Mastine collected 36 kills in the three games.  Ally Austin contributed 34 kills for the Gators.  Jerusha Aulava ran the Pine Manor offense tallying 71 assists in the three games.
