2007-2008 Soccer Preview

Chestnut Hill, MA –08/30/07- The 2007 Pine Manor Soccer season will usher in a new era of credibility and consistency with the addition of new soccer Coach Cory Kinsella. Coach Cory Kinsella believes that a strong recruiting class, combined with a strong returning class will change the level of soccer at Pine Manor College.            

The midfielder position is deep, possessing speed, strength and skill. Sophomore, Elaine Rodriguez (Bronx, NY) is an early candidate at right midfield. Rodriguez possesses a great deal of speed which will help a talented front line to create more offense. Junior center mid fielder Natalie Hunt (Topsham, ME) is a very solid player who will help the program to the next level.  Senior Tara Myers will add depth to the midfield this fall..

Junior forward Bethany Kapell (Jamesville, NY) has proven herself to be a naturally talented goal-scorer over the past two years. In 2005, was awarded “Rookie of the Week”, and in 2006 was awarded the “White Letter Award”.  Although Bethany was beset with a groin injury last year she still performed well, and will be capable of even more this year.  Joining her up front is junior Angie Capre.  Angie has the ability to hold the ball at her foot, which will help the Gators control tempo.

This year Pine Manor is going to have the most knowledgeable defense line in the history of the program.  Don’t let them fool you, they might be young, but their positioning will be flawless.  Sophomore Stephanie Ludwig (Henniker, NH) , freshmanJacqueline Sprague (Oxford, MA), and freshman Liz Castle (NH), will battle to keep the ball from hitting the back of the net!

The soccer program also welcomes an enthusiastic group of new players to the field.  They are Lauren Hall, Vanessa Kelly, Shatanna Harrison, and Essence Denton.
